a month agoThis Ross is not in a great area of town but there is security at the door, which helps a little bit. When we visited there were a lot of people in the store who seemed questionable, but no one bothered us directly. Prices are fair and it’s organized somewhat decently. a month agoRoss is my second home. It’s close by and so convenient that I’m there just about every week. The prices are super low plus I get 10% senior discount every Tuesday. I love going down in the basement for housewares!a week agoThe security needs to relax a little bit here. The attitude you put out is going to put the shoppers in danger with aggressive retaliation. I was as courteous as possible and it was challenging.2 months agoThe store itself was fine. It has what you expect from a typical Ross. However, the part of San Diego that it is in is a bit rough in terms of homelessness. In turn, walking there was a bit of an adventure. And, for the first time ever, there was a security guard at the front door opening a gate for folks to enter.

Enjoy your visit4 months agoLiterally the worst customer service of all time. Spent $1,400 in store and was told the shopping cart could not go out the door. Zero help offered; zero f’s given by the staff. Totally rude and unappreciative.3 weeks agoThis review is specifically for the location on Sports Arena Blvd in San Diego. This particular store is a special case because of the location and the issues they have are not necessarily typical of all locations. That being said, The products and selection of items are typical of other Ross stores with normal hours of operation. The challenge they face with the close proximity to Old Town MTS Station and the homeless epidemic plaguing southern California ef4xacerbates their struggle with the rampant shoplifting that occurs there from open to close on a daily basis. You may be thinking to yourself, “Big deal. If people steal something from this store, it’s not my problem. I just need a 7 dollar T-shirt and some socks.” Normally it isn’t going to have enough of an impact on the company to change policy’s but at this one be prepared to be welcomed by a security guard who will ask you to put any backpack or bag on the floor with nothing stopping anyone from casually walking up and taking it. The security guards are not paid to remember who’s bag is who’s and Ross would claim no responsibility to pay for the theft of your bag and anything inside of it. We have a plastic bag ban and are encouraged to bring our own bags to carry purchases home with or pay a 10 cent fee which I hope goes toward helping with the problems these bags create. If lockers were available I think people who aren’t shoplifters, and really did bring a bag for its intended purpose of carrying things, would feel less insulted than by having a security guard ordering them to leave their belongings on the floor, ironically with no security or assurance that it would be there when you return. Once you get over that hurdle and begin to look at what they have to sell be prepared to be welcomed by the employees with suspicion as they make it very clear that they expect you to steal something at any moment. Granted most times I am there I see people that I am sure are stealing or have actually seen trying to conceal items in one way or another. While I understand the need for such vigilance in protecting your employers from the loss of profit due to shrinkage, I still can’t ignore the part of me that hates being suspected/accused of doing something that I was not guilty of. I feel sympathy for the employees who are burdened by this situation as I also feel for the people living on the streets due to whatever reason they lost everything. But there needs to be a way for customers to be treated with hospitality rather than annoyance, suspicion, and even blatant disgust.10 months agoThe store opens early which I like. It was nice and clean. Big selection of shoes. But I do hope they get more plus size tops. I bought these funny socks their for a niece very affordable at $4.99 original price $14.99.5 months agoEspecially good deals on things for the kitchen- you just gotta be willing to pick through the shelves and find the treasures. Also my go-to for when I’m invited to a Baby Shower- lots of cute stuff @ a fraction of Target’s prices.

While visiting San Diego, I ventured to the mall at the border where I found a Ross store. We don’t have Ross stores in New York, so it’s always a pleasure to find one. it’s funny that you find the stores that says 4 less and you always come out purchasing more than you expected, like $100 more. But it’s all worth it once you found that perfect souvenir. Enjoy!
Ross has some ? ? ? here and there every time I stop by!!! COs (security) are friendly and welcoming. Over all love to stop by and look for deals! Cashier does need some work on her attitude she was like whatevers.
Good Ross branch. It’s the second one in a very close vacinety. Not very attractive because it’s next to Las Amaricas Outlets Mall. Right at the USA/Mexico border. Infact, the adjacent traffic light devides traffic in two lanes: left one South to the border check point and the other north to San Diego.
Craziest Ross I have ever visited. Super busy the line wrapped and the store. The workers moved extremely fast they were on top of it!
We go here about 4 times a month so almost every week. Everytime we come here there is al old lady that works and is so rude. She always says that bathrooms are not opened. When she let’s others use it. She seen my daughter pee her pants waiting and was like sorry there not opened. All I wanted was to clean my daughter up to put her in the car. Store is always filthy. I do find good kids clothes here. I will go to another location.
