Total 100% BAD experience. Signs saying don’t strip leaf’s off product or you will be charged but next to the sign is a rubbish bin. Impossible to buy multiple amounts of anything because they provide no bags so how do you carry anything. When asked staff if it was possible to get a few bags abrupt rude response. Witnessed 3 other people walk out and all went to the new world. I spent $97 on fruit and vegetables, their loss. If you want more than one item Don’t go there.

5 Replies to The 9 Largest Local Market in Tauranga, New Zealand

  1. This isn’t the biggest market, but it has a nice variety of produce, some delicious cheese, good bread, and a few food stalls. We went early and it was already getting crowded; so I suspect it gets very busy later in the morning.

  2. Incredible variety of stalls! Stocked up on fruit, veg, bread, fish and meat. Had a very good coffee and ate the best Dutch croquettes (kroketten & bitterballen) we’ve had in NZ!

  3. If you like farmers markets, then it’s suitable. Perhaps some stalls haven’t returned back as there aren’t that many farm produced. More stalls selling food than farm produced. However some of the farm products are really very fresh like free range eggs and avocadoes. Won’t take you too long to walk around. Parking is easily to find but may need to walk around 100-200 steps.

  4. Charming Local Market

This local market offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, a diverse selection of fresh produce, and friendly vendors.

A delightful place to shop for quality goods and experience a sense of community.

  5. New season veg coming through now. New stalls with more choice as summer arrives. Great coffee, great food selections especially the bacon and egg buns. Lovely people behind the stalls.
