A Comprehensive Guide to Using a Self-Service Car Wash
Using a self-service car wash can be a simple and cost-effective way to clean your vehicle. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use a self-service car wash:
- Locate a Self-Service Car Wash: Use search engines or apps to find a nearby self-service car wash station.
- Prepare Your Vehicle: Remove any personal belongings, trash, or loose objects from the car’s exterior.
- Choose Your Service: Most self-service car washes offer different cleaning options, like soap, rinse, wax, etc. You may need to insert coins, bills, or a credit/debit card to select the desired service.
- Pre-Rinse: Before applying soap, use the high-pressure rinse to remove loose dirt and debris.
- Apply Soap: Select the soap option and use the wand to spray your car. Start from the top and work your way down, covering all areas.
- Scrub if Necessary: Some stations provide a foam brush. You can scrub your car to remove stubborn dirt. Be gentle to avoid scratching your car’s paint.
- Rinse: After scrubbing, choose the rinse option to wash away the soap. Again, start from the top and work your way down.
- Wax (Optional): Some self-service car washes offer a wax option. Apply this if you want a protective coating on your vehicle.
- Dry Your Vehicle: Use the provided air dryer or a microfiber towel to dry your car. Drying by hand can prevent water spots.
- Vacuum Interior (Optional): Some locations have vacuum stations to clean your car’s interior. Insert coins or pay as required.
- Inspect Your Vehicle: Do a final walk-around to ensure all areas are clean and to your satisfaction.
- Follow Safety Guidelines: Always adhere to the instructions and warnings provided at the car wash station. Wear appropriate clothing, and be mindful of slippery floors.
- Leave the Bay Clean: If there’s a trash can, dispose of any garbage. Put away any provided tools like brushes back where they belong.
- Exit Promptly: Be mindful of others waiting and exit the wash bay in a timely manner.
Remember, every self-service car wash might have slightly different equipment and procedures, so take a moment to read any posted instructions or ask for assistance if needed. Self-service car washes are typically open 24/7 and can be a convenient way to maintain your car’s appearance.

in the last weekI had an amazing experience. I can not recommend it enough. Very prompt services and they have a nice coffee station / self-service cafe where you can sit and wait for your car is ready. There was even small children table inside with toys, so now I know there is a nice car detailing station where I can visit with my kids if needed. Love it!4 weeks ago10/10 experience. My car is looking brand new! Singh did an outstanding job and had great customer service. He had a thorough look at my car and listened to exactly what I needed, gave me a reasonable quote and had it finished the same day! Extremely happy with the end result, will definitely be going back! Thank you, Singh! ?2 months agoMy car was not particularly dirty however I had just that day scrubbed out my right rear hand side guard on a pillar. Lightly mind. The boys then applied their magic and it’s hardly noticeable. Then worked my ego about my pristine 08XR6 turbo with only 23000 km on the clock. Magnificent morning. Thoroughly recommended as you also have the Cafe that allows you to see what stage of the wash you’re at. Solid 9.56 months agoOnly car wash I trust with my car, they do a fantastic job and make my car look brand new again. The staff do a great job on my car. Great prices and highly recommend coming here4 months agoGot my car washed with their magic wash. Overall a good experience. The car was mostly clean. However, I noticed when I got home that there was some dirt on the boot and under the door panels. It was too little for me to go back and get it washed again. Was expecting a more thorough job hence the 4 stars.

a week agoExceptional car detailing service! My car looks brand new thanks to the meticulous attention to detail. Friendly staff and prompt service. Highly suggested for anyone looking for exceptional car cleaning.10 months agoWarning! DO NOT use this car care service provider! The owner agreed to re-do the very bad car detail and then became aggressive and physically pushed me out the door when I went to wait in the office area for my car to be correctly detailed. I decided to called police because I was that shaken from the the entire incident. Stay away community!a year agoDO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS! I felt UNSAFE. Poor quality service, worse customer service.
I was charged $65 to vaacum and externally clean a very small vehicle. Car was NOT clean, and I pointed out visible dust and cobwebs on the car and requested they be redone. The manager came out of nowhere, shouted at me for not respecting hard-working people, and told me for $65 they wouldn’t clean visible cobwebs from back windscreens?! He proceeded to open the car and blast me about doing something inside…even though one of his workers had pre- inspected the vehicle and given me a quote prior to me prepaying for the service! This should have been a straight forward transaction. I have attached photos of the poor work. And I could attach A LOT more. To make matters worse, this manager verbally abused and physically stood over me. I felt extremely unsafe and at one point told him to not come near me.
If the gentleman that was in the large car that was parked behind me reads this, I thank you for reassuring me and being a support. I am a small woman, and being suddenly abused, for a reasonable and polite complaint, by a larger man is terrifying. Your kind words helped me keep my cool and enabled me to leave safely. **AVOID THIS BUSINESS **
4 years agoI thought I would try the car wash and was pleasantly surprised at the end result… I am extremely happy with the service and the professionalism of the friendly staff… I will return again4 months agoi’m convinced the positive reviews about this place are either the employees or their friends or both. how can a clean that costs $95 take you 15 minutes to do, the service i got wasn’t even worth that $95, they didn’t even bother vacuuming under the floor mats. definitely wouldn’t recommend to anyone with half a brain.

5 Replies to The Best Self-Car Wash in Perth: Our Top 15 Picks
Good from far, but far from good… with added damage.
Purchased a $120 express detail for my mother with a disability as she is unable to do it herself. It certainly was express as there was a lot missed. I’ll let the images speak for them selves.
They also wanted to charge an additional $80 to do the seats.
The finish off the below average job we have a new scratch on the number and a year in the door rubber seal (car is less than a year old).
They sent us though a message asking for a review after the detail, so here it is…
Paid $180 for a 45-minute detail and seat steam cleaning. Overall a good job but some details missed that I’d expect for the sum paid. The exhaust tips were not cleaned and we had to point this out to the attendant who rectified that. The exterior mirror glasses weren’t cleaned at all, and had been left to dry covered in water spots. The plastic seat covers were half-fitted (I assume for the drive home) but there was no explanation about that and we had to spend more time fiddling around with them so we could actually sit on them. Small details, but important for a $180 service ?♂️
Avoid like the plague. Terrible organisation
I was selling my 350z and decided to get it detailed before putting on the market and paid for the top end detail.
As I walked out to my car I’ve seen that they have damaged the rim which I contested and they told me it was due to the age of the rim. Clearly not true but I had places to be so I continued on with my day and chased it up in the background.
Sunny called me and said he checked the cameras and confirmed they did in fact damage my car and would sort out the reimbursement. A month’s gone by as two members of my family passed away (clearly the car is not my priority)
When speaking with Sunny now he said because it’s been weeks there’s nothing he can do anymore and it’s not his problem regarding my deceased family members.
THATS the kind of company you’re dealing with.
For the price I paid I wasn’t that impressed unfortunately. What was done well was good, but for a premium price I expected a premium service!
1. Was told they would need my car for 2.5 hours, I was then called at 2.25 hours saying they would need it for another 2.5 hours, I couldn’t let this happen due to an appointment. They said they needed more time as they were bush, sorry that is not the customers problem.
2. Was not told my seats would be wet and I would have to sit on plastic! Not convenient when I had to take my dogs to the appointment!
3. My rear view mirror and the inside of my windscreen on the drivers side were not cleaned. Passenger side was!
4. There were drip marks on a number of exterior doors.
Wouldn’t recommend for a detail service.
I’ve been using this car wash for a while now. Recently I upgraded to a superior wash an detail costing $129.
My last wash wasn’t as good as is should be for that price, and when I got a txt asking to leave a rating I gave them a 7 and made comments about the glass not being crystal clear. It then said Y for a call back to discuss so I did that and never got a call back.
Do your self a favor and avoid. It’s expensive and not worth what you pay. Get the kid in your street to do it for $50 and he’ll do a better job.
