How to Shop Like a Local at Aldi in Albany

Shopping at Aldi in Australia can be a great way to save money on groceries and household items. However, it may be a bit different from shopping at other supermarkets. Here are some tips and tricks to make your Aldi shopping experience a success:

  • Bring a quarter: In Australia, as in other countries where Aldi operates, you will need a quarter coin or a 2-dollar coin to unlock a shopping cart. Don’t worry though, you’ll get your coin back when you return the cart.
  • Bring your own bags: Aldi does not provide free bags; you can either bring your own reusable bags or purchase them at the store. It’s a good idea to keep some bags in your car or carry a foldable one in your bag in case you make an impromptu visit to Aldi.
  • Use the middle aisle wisely: Aldi is known for its middle aisle, which offers a rotating selection of special buys. Take some time to browse through this aisle as you might find great deals on anything from clothing to kitchen gadgets.
  • Check the labels: Aldi offers a variety of products, including many of its own private labels. Be sure to check the labels and compare with other brands if necessary. You may find that Aldi’s private label products are just as good, if not better, than other well-known brands.
  • Plan your trip: Aldi stores in Australia often have limited opening hours, so it’s a good idea to plan your trip in advance. Check the opening hours of your local Aldi and try to go at a less busy time to avoid long queues.
  • Have a shopping list: It’s easy to get carried away when shopping at Aldi due to the low prices and tempting products. To avoid unnecessary purchases, make a shopping list beforehand and stick to it as much as possible.

  1. One of the employees that collects the trolleys yelled at people and threatened them because he felt “insulted” by their parking skills. He went on a massive rant about it for 10 minutes. This guy even went into the motorhome and scared the hell out of the customer’s kids.Absolutely rude and this person scared us too.We won’t come back.

  2. This was my first-ever visit to an Aldi store. I picked up something from the Clearance section, but it did not have a price tag. It was taken away at the checkout and I never saw it again. “We cannot sell this.” That’s all that I was told. No chance to make an offer. No consultation with a manager. No sorry. Just rude staff who made me feel that I had done something wrong. I liked the shop, but I strongly disliked the staff who dealt with me. Just plain rude.

  3. The staff were super quick to act after I purchased their laundry detergent and it leaked into my shopping bag and spilled out onto the shop floor. Before I could react they gave me a new shopping bag to replace the old one and another staff member grabbed me a new bottle and paper towels to wipe up the mess. Efficient team and great customer service

  4. Aldi in Albany WA is quite small in comparison to the East coast shops and doesnt have the range of produce found at larger Aldi francises but what they do have is cheaper then the big alternative.

  5. It’s just like any other Aldi. Clean and simple, great service and a speedy checkout. I’ll be visiting here for my weekly shop.

Still really clean and mostly stocked up. A few popular items run low but still heaps of verity.
