2 months agoGreat service. I have been there twice. Once with a cat I was minding for a friend, and a second time with an injured bird I found. They were great to deal with both times. With the cat, their costs were really reasonable and were really understanding of the fact the owner was overseas and not involved. With the bird, even though it was a pigeon, they were eager to assist and it didn’t appear to be a drama for them.4 months agoI switched to this vet because you can tell that they all genuinely love animals. The staff are informative, patient and hilarious. Parking is easy, there is heaps of waiting room space and they run on time. They actually take the time to read your pet’s history before the appointment starts and keep detailed notes.5 months agoOur experience with the entire team here was fantastic. Staff are all very caring, compassionate and knowledgeable. All the vets we have seen were great at explaining each step of treatment to us, which we really appreciated. Would highly recommend the clinic.3 months agoAmazing vets & nurses!!! Were so gentle, thorough & caring with my cat Kookah. Highly recommend this caring clinic. Can’t thank them enough.9 months agoDeserving of Five Plus Stars As pet owners, we have had the opportunity to deal with many veterinarians over the years. Dr. Tim Reed is without a doubt the best. We have never met a veterinarian as caring and gentle as Tim. We found him to be attentive, honest, extremely knowledgeable, straightforward, and compassionate to the decision we had to make, which was not easy to make. His advice was complemented by his unwavering support. There is no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this clinic. This clinic’s entire team is just outstanding.

a week agoAttended the ED yesterday (4/9/23) with mild chest pains. Got excellent, thorough attention and tests to prove that it was not heart related. All of the staff I saw during a long day were friendly and professional. Yes, I was there for over seven hours, mostly waiting for the next phase in the tests, but the reality is that there were a lot of other patients to attend to, many of them with worse conditions than mine. Top marks for their triaging efforts.a month agoGreat service at Emergency Department today. In and out the door in 45 minutes, and all issues were addressed competently. Especially after our horror experiences at Manning Base yesterday.5 months agoMany thanks to the Doctors and nurses who performed life saving surgery on me 11th March. Thanks to all the staff who took care of me. Thanks to the wonderfull blood donors who supplied the many units of blood that kept me alive.I couldn’t rate the staff at Port Base Hospital highly enough.3 years agoWe have a lot of people from our church have to go here and every time I have visited the staff have been incredibly helpful. The ladies at the front seat are exceptional as they deal with every different sort of person imaginable. I was there tonight and the office lady was helping someone find a left home – going over and above their call. The pink ladies here are amazing and all the volunteers deserve much recognition. Well done everyone in a very trying environment. Keep it up!4 months agoNot impressed at all! emergency room 5.30am, obviously no doctors as know one was seen until 7am hubby being the first even though others were there first extremely heavy cold can’t breath very well heavy cough and flem and couldn’t even get a prescription for a decent cold & flu. Time waster and he was left in the room for 30 mins took 1 hour for nothing. Holidaying

Planning to Visit an Australian General Practitioner? Here’s What You Should Consider!
When visiting a General Practitioner (GP) in Australia, there are several things to consider to ensure a smooth and successful visit.
- Choosing a GP: It is important to find a GP that suits your healthcare needs. Consider factors such as location, opening hours, language preferences, and any specific medical conditions or concerns.
- Medical History: Before your visit, gather and organize your medical history, including any previous illnesses, surgeries, and medications. This information will help the GP to better understand your health background.
- Appointments: Most GPs in Australia operate by appointment. It is advisable to call ahead and schedule an appointment to avoid long waiting times. Some clinics also offer online booking services, which can be convenient.
- Arriving on Time: GPs usually have a tight schedule, so it is important to arrive on time for your appointment. If you are running late, it is courteous to inform the clinic in advance.
- Medical Insurance and Medicare Card: If you have private health insurance, ensure that your GP accepts your insurance and bring along your insurance details. Additionally, carry your Medicare card with you for claiming any government-subsidized services.
- Communication: Clearly communicate your symptoms, concerns, and any questions you may have during the appointment. Be honest and provide accurate information to help the GP in diagnosing and treating your condition.
- Follow-up: If the GP recommends any further tests, referrals, or medication, make sure to follow the instructions given. It is important to prioritize your health and adhere to the recommended treatment plan.
- Payment: GP visits in Australia are generally not free, except for certain groups such as pensioners. Be prepared to pay for the consultation, and inquire about the payment methods accepted at the clinic.
- Continuity of Care: Establishing a long-term relationship with a GP can provide continuity of care and better understanding of your health needs. Consider returning to the same GP for subsequent visits, particularly for ongoing or chronic health conditions.
By considering these factors, you can have a more productive and satisfactory experience during your visit to a General Practitioner in Australia.

Reception staff are rude, saying clients names and details of clients can be heard when waiting which totally breaches confidentiality. They change appointments, times days and doctors without letting you know. Waiting times can be excessive . Main issue though is the rude reception staff and the incompetent way they do the appointments, they are rude and and entitled and pretentious.. they pull faces when hanging up from clients and when clients walk away from the reception desk. They have nil compassion and NO manners.
They do NOT supply all billing information verbally . Many people are not able to read your fine print. They refuse to book appointments over the telephone and refer you to hot doc. They will not see respiratory cases so this is causing the public health system to fail ..WHEN DID DOCTORS Become SO BLOODY PRECIOUS….this practice is going down hill very very very quickly. A male doctor knocked me against the wall in the hall way as I was leaving and I fell against the wall and
my phone dropped and my screen broke, this disgusting man did not even offer an apology, nor did offer to help me pick up everything he’d caused me to drop, and the practice made no offer to replace my broken screen. He did not even acknowledge what he did ..YOU ARE A DISGUSTING Excuse FOR A HUMAN BEING * you are not GOD, you are a a person with a qualification …and a person who is supposed to provide a service and in order to provide that service you need compassion and Manners. I am disgusted..
THIS PRACTICE IS FAILING IN ITS DUTY IF CARE ….
IF YOU Have NO Compassion YOUR ON The WRONG Industry
We have just moved from Melbourne and a first time patient at Port Macquarie GPs. When I arrived I was greeted warmly by the staff. The waiting room was clean with plenty of space to sit.
I saw Dr Hope Bouwer who welcomed me to Port Macquarie. She was extremely attentive, understanding of my needs and referred me to a Specialist that could help me. I would highly recommend this practise.
We always get very good treatment at the GP super clinic. All the doctors are personable and very caring. They know how to talk to their patients, and explain things in a way that each person understands. The receptionists are all lovely as well, they are an asset to the clinic.
Incredible practice, very professional. Was seen very quickly! Marian Dover- such an incredible doctor. So clever and thorough. So glad to have finally found my GP who truly cares ?
As a regular holiday visitor who was unwell while in Port I would like to thank the Nurse who collected my vital statistics and put me at ease, and my daughter-in-law’s doctor at Port Macquarie GPs for seeing me on short notice, and also the Virtual Doctor service who booked my appointment for me with Port Macquarie GPs and referred me for Pathology, XRay, and medication.
