a year agoOther staff are fine. This one star is for Dr Eswaran. She’s the rudest GP I’ve ever seen. As first, she just said come in, I didn’t know who she’s talking to. There were lots of people sitting there. So I needed to confirm if she’s going to see my daughter. And when I told her my daughter had her wax cleaned last week. She kept asking me with bad manner why they cleaned her wax, which doctor asked you to, which medical center you went to balala…Crazy…a year agoMy experience with the fantastic Dr Shiyamala Eswaran is excellent. She has polite caring and listens. I have always found Dr Eswaran to be very helpful and diagnose expertly. She is happy to refer to specialist when required. I have never had a Dr to be concerned and follow up to check if your okay like she does. I would fully recommend Dr Shiyamala Eswaran if anyone is wanting an experienced female doctor.11 months agoReally friendly admin staff and exceptional doctors. I know I’m in good hands, even if I can’t see my regular doctor.9 months agoThis medical facility does not believe in vaccine injuries even when they a diagnosed via cardiac MRI. The doctors are to scared to give their medical opinion because of the new new laws enforced from APHRA.2 years agoWhilst the practice is an amazing place to visit, I.e. all staff are pleasant to deal with, trying to make an appointment by telephone is by no means efficient I was on hold for over 15mins which I consider far too long to be listening to repeated messages with music that reminds me of funeral music to try and get an appointment. In saying that once answered was dealt with very efficiently and professionally.

3 weeks agoI understand Saturday is more money however being charged $150 and no useful advice other than see how things go and come back Monday. Appointment ran longer due to repeating herself and then being slow at writing a referral for a dr that she did not need to waste time asking irrelevant questions. All the information was on file from yrs of previous consults with drs at the medical centre. It was frustrating that she doubts other drs knowledge and the records that other drs have on file. It was a simple task and I felt she wanted the extra money not to actually help.3 months agoVery disappointed, had to get a referral for my son to see a paediatrician as requested by the Child Health Clinic nurse. The doctor we saw said we had to wait until we see the dietician before she would give us a referral so we walk away with nothing and now I have to go back again after the dietician appointment just for the referral . My son has grounds to see a paediatrician as we were referred to get one by the Child Health Nurse but this just makes the whole process longer than it should be.4 months agoWill not be returning after my recent appointment. Rude and condescending doctor who was not interested in assisting me with sensitive issues, and explicitly asked me to re-book with someone else before I even finished my sentence.7 months agoDr’s are very professional – unfortunately the clinical staff are unemphatic of patients with medical issues. Falsely accused of being aggressive (when i have a medical issue affecting my voice box). I appreciate customer facing employees may not have the easiest job when facing the public and individuals can be rude – however it is possible that people have medical conditions in which make their tone abrupt and uneven. I intend to send the results once I see the specialist to educate and train people that consideration that other factors may be at play rather than jump to conclusions.10 months agoGreat doctor, I see Rebecca Calder and she’s so nice and helpful. I will say though that the receptions could work a bit harder to be professional. When I walked in they were having a conversation about someone calling them a ‘dickhead’ and I had to wait for them to stop their conversation before they addressed me

Planning to Visit an Australian General Practitioner? Here’s What You Should Consider!
When visiting a general practitioner (GP) in Australia, there are several important things to consider:
- Choosing the right GP: It’s essential to find a GP who meets your specific healthcare needs. Consider factors such as location, opening hours, languages spoken, and any specializations or areas of expertise they may have.
- Booking an appointment: GPs in Australia usually work on an appointment basis. To secure a convenient time, it’s advisable to book in advance. Some clinics may also offer same-day appointments for urgent cases.
- Medical history and documentation: It’s helpful to bring any relevant medical documentation, such as previous test results or prescription details, as this can aid the GP in providing appropriate care and treatment.
- Private health insurance: If you have private health insurance, check with your insurance provider whether your chosen GP is covered. This can help reduce out-of-pocket expenses.
- Referrals and specialist care: GPs in Australia can provide referrals to specialists or other healthcare professionals if required. It’s important to communicate and discuss your healthcare needs thoroughly with the GP to ensure appropriate referrals if necessary.
- Medicare and bulk billing: Medicare is Australia’s publicly funded national healthcare system, which often covers a portion of your medical costs. Some GPs offer bulk billing, meaning they will bill Medicare directly, leaving no out-of-pocket expenses for the patient. It’s advisable to inquire about bulk billing options when booking your appointment.
- Communication and comfort: Communication is crucial during your visit. Make sure you understand the GP’s instructions, ask questions if you’re unsure or need clarification, and don’t hesitate to express any concerns or discomfort you may have.
- Follow-up and ongoing care: If your condition requires ongoing care or monitoring, it’s important to establish a follow-up plan with your GP. Discuss future appointments and any necessary tests or treatments.
By considering these factors and being proactive in your healthcare journey, you can have a positive and effective experience when visiting a GP in Australia.

Jay at the front desk is always so lovely and has excellent customer service skills. Super friendly and welcoming to everyone.
I’ve been going to Westridge medical for years and have a rapport with a lot of the GP’s there. Wait times can be excessive so best to call if you have other things on or are feeling extremely unwell and can’t wait in a waiting room for long periods. The service you receive, however, from the doctors is well worth the wait.
I cannot fault these guys. I rang this morning in a state of panic due to my daughter and her health. Although they didn’t have a spare booking they made room for and I’m so thankful. The staff were so lovely and welcoming, my daughter who is 2 and normally very scared of doctors was so comfortable with Dr. Vinu Ramnanan. We will no be making this our regular doctors. Highly recommend!
Every time that I have been to the Medical Centre the staff are always friendly, courteous and very welcoming. Dr Vinu Ramnanan is extremely approachable, good listener, caring and explains what is happening.
We visited the Wedtridge medical Centre today as new patients and I couldn’t fault them. The solo receptionist on duty was warm and welcoming even though he was visibly under the pump.
Our doctor was Dr McConochie, he was very knowledgeable and kind. He explained things in easy terms. This was the third doctor we’ve seen about the same issue and neither of the previous 2 doctors informed me like Dr McConochie did. Highly recommend!! We will be back!
Easy to book, friendly, competent staff – excellent medical treatment with experienced practitioners including preventative measures.
