Pros and Cons of Shopping at Woolworth
Woolworths and traditional markets both offer different shopping experiences that cater to different needs and preferences. Here are some pros and cons to consider when choosing between the two:
Woolworth:
Pros:
- Convenience: Woolworths stores are typically located in easily accessible areas, making it convenient for shoppers to visit.
- Wide variety: Woolworths offers a wide range of products, including groceries, clothing, household items, and electronics, providing shoppers with one-stop shopping convenience.
- Quality assurance: Woolworths often offers branded products, ensuring a certain level of quality for shoppers.
- Online shopping: Woolworths also provides the option for shoppers to purchase items online and have them delivered to their doorstep, saving time and effort.
Cons:
- Higher prices: Compared to traditional markets, Woolworths products are generally priced higher due to factors such as branding and convenience.
- Limited bargaining: Shoppers may not have the opportunity to negotiate prices or bargain with sellers as they would in traditional markets.
- Less personal interaction: The shopping experience at Woolworths may lack the personal interaction and connection that can be found in traditional markets.
Traditional market:
Pros:
- Lower prices: Traditional markets often offer products at lower prices compared to Woolworth, as they usually source directly from producers or wholesalers.
- Bargaining opportunities: Shoppers can negotiate prices or bargain with sellers, potentially obtaining better deals.
- Fresh and local products: Traditional markets are known for offering a variety of fresh and locally sourced products, allowing shoppers to support local businesses and enjoy a unique shopping experience.
- Personal interaction: Shoppers can directly communicate with sellers, forming connections and gaining insights about the products they are purchasing.
Cons:
- Limited variety: Traditional markets may have a limited range of products compared to larger stores like Woolworth.
- Inconvenience: Traditional markets are often located in specific areas, requiring shoppers to travel to reach them.
- Time-consuming: Shopping at traditional markets can be more time-consuming due to the need to visit multiple stalls or vendors to find everything on your shopping list.
Ultimately, the choice between Woolworths Adelaide and traditional markets depends on personal preferences, budget, and shopping needs. While Woolworths offers convenience, a wide variety, and quality assurance, traditional markets provide lower prices, bargaining opportunities, fresh and local products, and personal interaction.

in the last weekIt seems to be laid out in a very strange manner, unlike any other wooloworths i have been to. Also i found one of those pages that list where everything is, it said nuts were in an aisle, that me and who i was with then went and checked fully for a few minutes, could not find any, or see any staff that were available to help (it was pretty busy) so ended up going to coles.3 weeks agoIt wasn’t a good experience going into Woolworths this morning as a stuff member was rude to me, and my friend in self-serve being judged and accused us of stealing when we paid for our stuff it’s just disgusting how we get treated if this happened again, I will be taking this to the manager. This person should be fired you don’t just judge someone just because we look young I was very upset when I left the shops today3 months agoYou have a terrible manager who does not know anything about good customer service. Her way of dealing with customers was absolutely appalling.
A few months ago, I paid for 18 items in the express line. There were no customers waiting and 3 of your staff at the express check-out line were standing there, chatting. When I was at the check-out, the manager said that this is the express line, you have too many items. My response was that this express line did not specify the item limit. She insisted that this is the express line while checking out my shopping items and refused to tell me the item limit. I had about 18 items. She kept saying that this is the express line and I should not have used the express line. Her tone and attitude really irritated me. I wanted to drop everything and walk out. Since then, whenever I see her at the Marion store, I don’t do my shopping there even though I have boosted your offer.
I have seen others with full trolleys who were served at the express line and were not instructed to go to another line.
a month agoSome rude staff extremely overpriced products since the pandemic!! this corporate greed is disturbing & several times I’ve been overcharged after checking my receipt also the fruit & veg isn’t fresh enough to last more than 2days not a pleasant shopping experience at all5 months agoLocated on the ground floor, a large supermarket with a abundance of produce and stock! Fast paced and in an extremely busy environment but have ample staff to cope! Large assortment of quality bakery goods and just about everything else! Prompt friendly efficient service by their staff!

3 years agoThis shop is set out well, has a good range of fresh meats, their deli section is well stocked, their herbs are a bit pricey, pays to go to the asian grocer next door.3 months agoNice layout, lots of fresh produce and many vegetarian products now. Couple of items sometimes hard to find, but a nice shopping experience.4 months ago448 pm on a Saturday afternoon and the deli staff tell me they can’t slice pancetta because they’ve cleaned the slivers, while two staff are gas bagging behind the counter..
Next time I’ll go to coles.. Don’t you shut at 5?
2 weeks agoNot enough check outs open and forced to use self service checkout which was a nightmare.6 months agoHuge store. Love the new building feeling about the shop. You can lose track of time in here easily. Very pleasant outfit.

5 Replies to TOP 15 Best Woolworths Supermarkets near Adelaide, Australia
I have to say not a bad little supermarket right in the heart of the city. I stayed over in the city recently and just wanted to grab a few things (Drinks and Chips) to have in the hotel room without paying the high prices. I was impressed with the range of things that they had in the store. The self checkouts took a little longer than I would have liked. Overall, I will go again. I would rather buy my drinks from the supermarket than all the Seven Eleven stores around Adelaide and their high prices
Good range for being located in the CBD. I had some wonderful service from the lady on the front desk, Amy. I haven’t seen her around but she had extensive knowledge around SIM cards and even helped me to find a pre paid plan best suited for me after I was let down at the OPTUS store. I really appreciated it, hopefully she stays at this store cause she went over and beyond. Not to mention most your staff are friendly!
Woolworths Rundle Mall is a mid-sized, two-story supermarket located in the heart of Rundle Mall. Like other Woolworths stores, it offers a variety of products, although there is a limited selection of fresh vegetables, pre-packaged meats, and seafood compared to suburban locations. What’s exciting is that this store has a wide range of Asian food options, which sets it apart from other Woolworths stores. Additionally, they provide microwaveable meals for lunch, reasonably priced roasted chicken, chicken tenders, and sushi, but you’ll need to be quick because they sell out by evening and do not restock.
The card only machine cannot print the receipt out, I asked the staff to help me but she just tell me to remove my staff left and went away and not coming back.
Really bad experience.
I just want to change some coins to do laundry, but one of the staff there asks me to buy something and then she will change the coins for me. I mean I just need to change some coins, does she need KPI or what? Why push me to buy stuff from there? Or do I need to show my Woolworths card to her?
