Great selection of authentic Indian food to choose from and you can choose your heat level, a service which the kids love. We regularly get delivery from Kasturi but also like to dine in on the odd occasion. I can highly recommend both. We ordered 6 dishes and some really excellent naan. With kids drinks the cost was reasonable at $170 and took away enough for lunch the next day. Service was excellent. Give Kasturi a try.

Don’t order takeout if you’re in a hurry. Bring a good book and a blanket cos you will be settling in for the night. The restaurant is only 10% full too. Hate to see when busy

Update: I’ve just finished War and Peace. Still here. Same lady working here has asked me my name at least 6 times. On the 6th time a lady I’ve never met answered for me. The other customers now know my name. I’m 5 minutes away from asking for my money back. Update: get home, meal cold

Dined here for the first time last week and I was blown away by their quality, quantity and value for money.

The four of us had the $45 banquet and added their goat curry, which turned out to be excessive. The staff are happy to supply containers to allow you to take leftovers home.

The garlic and cheese naan is a non-negotiable must!!

A mix of authentic Indian food with a western pinch. A must visit place in Melbourne. Was recommended by a friend, more than he explained.

  1. Tandoori prawns is good but coconut rice lacks the aroma of coconut milk. It’s actually blend and ordinary.
Ordered Handi Lamb with chef’s special sauce unfortunately, it tastes of burned flavour and not great.
Best was the 3 glasses of mango lassi that beats other Indian restaurants.
I am rating only my order but I am sure they have other yummy curries too

  2. Omg first time having Indian mahal was absolutely fabulous ?? had the banquet to try few different things ?? definitely put it in your must try’s will not be disappointed ??❤️❤️??????

  3. We’ve been getting food from here for quite a few years now and thought I should do a review.

We absolutely love it. Never had a bad meal in all the times we’ve had it. You cannot beat the value packs with excellent serving sizes at a great price.
And the best thing is that the food is absolutely delicious.

We recommended it to our friends a little while ago and its now our go to meal when we catch up together.

    I 100% recommend it.

  4. Visited this restaurant for the first time with the family & had the WORST INDIAN FOOD EVER. Ordered some veg platter & tandoor chicken. Was served the raw chicken. Samosas & spring rolls were so oily, had to use the napkins to take out extra oil. And biryani tasted like they just mixed some rice with available curry.

One advice- do not go there unless you want to waste your money.

  5. I have only had delivery from I M in the past and have driven past hundreds of times without a thought. We went to dinner last night and were pleasantly surprised with the service and atmosphere. The food was similarly excellent and the menu very diverse, containing all the regular dishes plus many more. I have found that the spice heat level tends to be higher than comparable restaurants so be careful to add “very mild” to the Scoville scale. Well worth a try. We will come back to sample their fixed price buffet at some stage.
