Staff tried their best to find seats for us on waiting list, patiently answering the phone reservation request and explaining situation kindly to us. Service at restaurant were attentive and friendly and gave good recommendations.

Festive Martini – so Cute and yummy. Another table of leaving customers even casually chatted with us about how enticingly it was served as they checking out.

Seafood feast, crayfish, steak – all hit the spot, including the sides like spiced potatoes, roasted potatoes and fries that came with the dishes.

The atmosphere was pleasant and cozy. The food was tasty and satisfying. However, the service fell short of expectations. It was a bit strange when a trainee placed plates on top of our menus. Also, despite the booking indicating 5 people, the table was too small, making the dining experience a bit cramped. While I understand space constraints, it was slightly disappointing. Nevertheless, overall experience was enjoyable.

This was an amazing dining experience for our Sunday evening. We had just arrived into Launceston and luckily Rupert & Hound is open later on Sundays for an 830PM booking.

The service and food was exceptional, Adam had great knowledge of the food list and their specials.

    We ordered

Oysters Natural Entree Squid Atlantic Salmon Twice Cooked Pork Belly Eton Mess Tiramisu

All were delicious, fresh and extremely well cooked

Plus the Mango Mojito and the Christmas Punch were a nice festive touch.

Service was amazing! First time I have been to a restaurant and they came around exactly when we finished our drinks and asked if we wanted more. Usually we are waiting around in other places and have to go up because they aren’t as attentive. This restaurant though!! Love it. All the staff were very professional and kind. Food and drinks were quite nice. I had the eye fillet and my partner had the pork belly ?

Great location looking on to the River, very friendly service and the food is of a good standard. Had a few starters, Garlic Cheesy bread, Scallops and the R&H Squid which was the best of the three, perfectly cooked. Had the Scotch Fillet for main, was cooked just how I like it and seemed like a good quality cut of meat. Also enjoyed a cocktail and liked that they do have smaller bottles of wine available.

  1. Amazing meals, fresh and hot, staff went above and beyond and even added a special touch to our dessert. New staff member Sasha did an amazing job, friendly and courteous, definately dine here again.

  2. Pleasantly suprised with the food on offer, fresh cob with garlic butter and pork belly. Everything was so good. Only negative i had was that there was a lot of fat on the pork (half of it) but understand that you needed the fat to keep the meat so juicy.

  3. The food was ok and overall service was nice especially a girl called Sarah, she was very lovely.

However, there was one waitress was pretty rude and ignored us on FOUR separate occasions . On four separate occasions we were ignored despite visibly hailing her and she just stared at us momentarily, also while we were in her peripheral vision. She was not busy at the time and we were ignored This is unacceptable for basic human interaction.

We provided this feedback to the supervisor called Georgie at 10pm closing time on 20 December, who was kind to inform us that she would pass this feedback to senior management. We hope senior management will understand our experience by this one waitress will not be given to future customer.

  4. This was the best restaurant we tried in Tasmania. Ingredients fresh, service fantastic. Value for money for the kind of quality food we had. Special thanks also to Patrick for his attentive service. Your recommendations were spot on!

  5. Totally recommend this place for a great dinner.
The food was outstanding. I mean, outstanding.
We thought the entree and mains were the highlight but then the desserts came out which blew us away.
The staff were so lovely and helpful.
