a week agoWe had dinner at Masala on the 1st of the year. The owner is an absolute gem, how kind you are. I had some dietary requirements and he did his best to try accommodate it. Staff was very nice, the food was delicious, from the naan bread to the coconut rice, as well as the mango butter chicken and the lentil Dahl.Thank you! Will return!
5 months agoIf I could I would kiss the chef. I swear they must use magic to make the food taste this good. That’s twice I have eaten here, and both meals have been the best Indian food I have ever tasted, and some of the best food I have ever tasted in my life.
I’ve tried the Butter Chicken and the Goat Curry, and as soon as the food was bought out in front of me I start to salivate because the smell of the spices is so delicious!!! ?
It’s the sort of food that you just want to take your time eating as each mouthful is a flavour sensation that just lingers on your taste buds.
This isn’t just food it’s made with love and care and is the perfect place to take your family and friends to enjoy a wonderful meal together.
I will certainly be back next time I visit Townsville. My compliments to the chef and staff. ??❤️
5 months agoUpdated review from last night. Have you ever been looking forward to a return meal to be disappointed. That was our meal last night. The Rogan Josh lacked flavour and heat. The Biryani chicken was dry and lifeless in flavour. The rice that should be full of flavour after being slow cooked with the chicken was not nice to the palate at all. My cheese and garlic naan was oily. To be completely honest, it was underwhelming and my last meal here.Very nice food, and the wait staff were extremely attentive, making sure we were looked after at all times.
2 months ago4 years ago we stumbled across Masala and fell in love with the food. We had to return when we visited Townsville, the food was AMAZING! Lovely place! Our favourite place in Townsville!
We had our first visit there last night. They have a wonderful variety of food on the menu(which is very hard to find). The place smelt of delicious food, and honestly, it tasted amazing
The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. We had a reservation and arrived early, were seated, and served very quickly. There was always a friendly face around and ready to help serve at a waves’ notice and sometimes without even a wave.
My partner and I saw some milk drinks brought out and wanted to try this. We called a male server over who informed us that the ‘butter milk’ was a Indian specialty and suggested we try it in a tester first. It was definitely an acquired taste, but the service he provided was sensational! I’ve not had any other restaurant offer a taster in the chance we don’t like it.
We had an entree and two main meals. (Chicken with indian spices (Entree as pictured) then for main: Butter chicken, boiled rice, chicken tikka masala & boiled rice and cheesey garlic Naan bread. They were delicious and filling. We even grabbed a takeaway container.
We are very fulfilled and happy customers who will be going back regularly. Thankyou to the amazing staff for such a wonderful experience!!
Incredible food, the service was amazing and the most perfect atmosphere. Best Indian in Townsville, highly recommend!
This was one of my favourite indian dining experiences. Everything was so clean, fresh and authentic. I liked how the dishes weren’t bulked up with cheap cream like some indian restaurants. This place uses really fresh ingredients. Manager and staff were so friendly asking how food was. Even the toilets were spectacular haha, so clean and fancy. Thank you Aalishan.
