Everest Inn: An Unapologetically Authentic Culinary Journey from Bunbury to the Himalayas

Imagine a portal that could transport you from the sun-kissed streets of Bunbury to the vibrant markets and spice-laden alleys of Nepal and India. Brace yourself, because I’ve stumbled upon just that portal, and it’s none other than Everest Inn Nepalese and Indian Cuisine Restaurant. And let me tell you, when they say authenticity, they aren’t mincing words; they’re dishing out pure, unadulterated flavors that whisk you away on a gastronomic adventure.

As a wanderer who’s had the privilege of traversing the bustling streets of Nepal and India, I approached Everest Inn with a mixture of curiosity and skepticism. Could they truly capture the essence of those far-flung lands so accurately? Well, hold on to your culinary hats, because they absolutely did.

My journey into the heart of Himalayan flavors began with a plate of “veggie momos.” These delicate dumplings, stuffed with a medley of vegetables and lovingly folded into crescent-shaped parcels, transported me back to the bustling streets of Kathmandu. One bite, and I could almost hear the cacophony of street vendors and feel the rush of energy in the air.

A sip of their “mango lassi” was like a refreshing breeze sweeping through, the sweetness of the mango intermingling with the tang of yogurt, a harmony of flavors that danced on my palate. It was as if I were sitting in a quaint café in Delhi, escaping the heat with this delightful concoction.

The main course was where Everest Inn truly flexed its authenticity muscles. I opted for the daring “beef vindaloo,” a dish known for its fiery kick and complex flavors. As I took the first forkful, my taste buds were hit with a whirlwind of sensations—fiery heat, a medley of spices, and the rich umami of tender beef. This wasn’t your run-of-the-mill curry; this was a culinary explosion that left me both breathless and craving more.

But the real showstopper was the “Everest thali set.” This beautifully presented ensemble was a canvas of flavors, each component offering a glimpse into the rich culinary tapestry of Nepal and India. The curries, the rice, the bread—it was as if I were experiencing a festival of flavors in a single meal. The authenticity was palpable, and I couldn’t help but marvel at how far I had traveled from Bunbury.

The experience was made even more enchanting by the warmth of the staff, who seemed to know that they were serving up more than just food; they were dishing out memories, experiences, and a slice of their own culture.

So, there you have it, an unfiltered tale of my escapade into Everest Inn Nepalese and Indian Cuisine Restaurant. No sugar-coating, no embellishments—just a genuine tribute to the art of cooking and the power of flavors to connect us across continents. If you’re in search of an adventure that marries authenticity with pure, unbridled taste, then buckle up and embark on a culinary odyssey that will take you from Bunbury to the Himalayas in a single bite.

  1. Today I went to Jo’s Curry house and asked for a table for 1 as I am here alone. The manager told me they don’t have any tables and I should order take away, which I did.
Then within the next 10 minutes she sat 2 couples who just walked in asked for a table for 2. She made extra effort to clear one table for one of the couples.
Not this would make any difference but I hope the owner sees this comment and again not that it would matter to him because how much business would one person at a table have brought and in an environment of staff shortages.

  2. Sad to say that having read up on all of the reviews which were very high we did not find it so.
Of the 3 serving staff, one seemed to be totally confused and lacked any sort of a smile or essence of enthusiasm, one was somewhat better and the third who regrettably was on the tables very often was great.
It wasn’t particularly busy yet it took quite some time to come to us to take our order. We ordered 2 different types of bottled beers which were served in glasses, that’s good you might think except the person that brought them to the table had no idea which one was which.
When it comes to the food, it was warm only at best and the beer was so dry and tough that I ended up leaving it.
