What to Consider When Visiting an Op Shop in Warrnambool
When going to a thrift store in Australia, there are several things to consider to ensure a successful and enjoyable shopping experience. Whether you’re looking for unique vintage pieces, affordable clothing, or hidden gems, these considerations can help make your thrift store adventure a success.
First and foremost, it’s important to have an idea of what you’re looking for before entering the thrift store. Thrift stores can be overwhelming with the amount of items they carry, so having a general idea of what you need or want can help you navigate through the aisles more efficiently.
Another important consideration is to set a budget. While thrift stores often have affordable prices, it’s still easy to get carried away and overspend. Setting a budget beforehand can help you stay on track and prevent any impulse purchases.
In addition to setting a budget, it’s also important to consider the condition of the items you’re interested in purchasing. While some thrift stores have strict quality control measures, others may not. Take the time to carefully inspect items for any damages, stains, or signs of wear. This will help you avoid purchasing items that may not last long or require extensive repairs.
Lastly, don’t be afraid to haggle or negotiate prices. Thrift stores often have a bit of flexibility when it comes to pricing, especially if an item has been sitting on the shelves for a while. Polite and respectful negotiation can sometimes lead to a better deal.
Overall, going to a thrift store in Australia can be a fun and rewarding experience. By considering these factors, you can increase your chances of finding unique and affordable treasures. Happy thrifting!

a year agoA pretty good sized store, well organised, friendly staff on the day I was there, and they don’t forget they’re selling pre-loved stuff (i.e. people’s old stuff) when they’re pricing. Or to put it more clearly, they don’t overprice. Picked up some great bargains.6 years agoExcellent Vinnies with clean products of fantastic quality, at a very reasonable prices.7 months agoWanted to drop off some valuable pre-loved items – was told at 4.50pm that they don’t take anything anymore because they’re closing soon…a year agoAbsolutely amazing op shop! Great place helps lots of people out.i like to spend my money there
This is one of the BEST op shops Ive ever been to in Victoria. Definitely the cheapest. Most op shops charge high prices these days. But these guys do a great job at turning over high volume of stuff at good prices. I get a shock when I go to other op shops and see their prices . Great work . And thank you to all the volunteers. It wouldnt be what it is without you all ❤️
First impression was pretty dull and miserable, was not greeted by any staff and was made to feel like we were in the way for browsing the shelves . The staff seemed like they did not want to be there and were grumpy . No one said hello, saw a staff member tell off a child for playing with the toys ? It’s an OP shop those toys were donated to you . Incredibly unwelcoming vibe to all customers , made me not want to purchase from this store .
Doing a dam good job under their current circumstances. Keep it up. Still one of the best salvos around
Not worth a look was the best opp shop in town not anymore just a clothing store same things every day
