Keiser University Gym: The Complete Facilities

Keiser University, located in sunny Florida, has established itself as a leader in providing career-focused education. Beyond its academic excellence, the university is also committed to the holistic development of its sports facilities. This article will explore the Kaiser University gym and its role in promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Keiser University Gym

In the heart of the Keiser University Flagship Campus in West Palm Beach, lies the Student Life Center called the Countess de Hoernle Student Life Center is the home of Keiser Athletics. The gym facilities are part of the university’s overall wellness and athletics program.

The university strongly focuses on athletics, with various sports programs and facilities available across its campuses. In West Palm Beach, for example, the Keiser University area is filled with various stadiums. 

The Latin American Campus also has a Sports Program that encourages student body, faculty, and staff participation in various athletic and recreational activities. Not only promote healthy physical and mental health, but they also promote healthy competition and interaction among educational institutions in the region.

Keiser University Sports Facilities

To support students’ sports activities holistically, the university did not stop with just establishing the Keiser University Gym, but also other sports facilities.

1. Student Life Center

Aside from the Kaiser University gym, the facility also has the Athletic Department Office, athletic trainer’s room, fitness center, golf simulator room, and Massimino Court. The Athletic Department Office contains the coaches’ offices for administration, compliance, sports information, and for the Assistant Athletic Director.

The trainer’s room contains Keiser Sports Medicine with certified athletic trainers, orthopedic surgeons, and student support staff. Several dedicated Sports Medicine Staff are also here to provide comprehensive healthcare and injury prevention. 

In 2015, Keiser University Flagship Campus unveiled its Indoor Golf On-Campus Practice Area. Since then, it has become one of the top practice facilities in college golf. The Massimino Court is a basketball court that can also double as the wrestling room, complete with 1,600 seat capacity. 

2. Alumni Field

The home of the Seahawks softball team is located in the Gustave T. Broberg Jr. Athletic Complex at the Flagship Campus. It has undergone significant renovations and is complete with a locker room that features 22 locker stalls, a lounge room, and a study room.

3. Arrigo Vecellio Field

It is located in the West Palm Beach area, the Arrigo-Vecellio Field is a soccer field with natural grass. In 2019, the seating was extended for audiences for better sightlines and comfort.

4. Silvester Jr. Field

Near the Keiser University Gym at Flagship Campus, the Silvester Jr. Field is the home of the Keiser Seahawks baseball team. Within the Gustave T. Broberg Jr. Athletic Complex, the Bermuda natural grass is the perfect surface for any game in South Florida.

Between 2016 and 2017, the stadium underwent major renovations adding a new press box and clubhouse along with new batting cages. This facility has a home bullpen and pitchers training areas. 

5. Tennis Courts

Keiser University also has four tennis practice courts in the Maureen L. Smith Recreation Center on the Flagship campus. The courts are hard court to prepare for the actual game, which majority of their home games are held at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton, Florida.

6. Outdoor and Indoor Golf Practice Facility

Still, within the Flagship Campus, Keiser University has an outdoor on-campus golf practice area, complete with 12 stations capable of full-swing hitting, 12,000 sq ft putting green, and 14,000 sq ft short game areas.

While the 1,500 sq ft Indoor Training area has four indoor hitting bays, each features cutting-edge technologies, including Flightscope, V1 Pro, SAM PuttLab, BodiTrak, Swing Catalyst, and full swing simulators. Not to mention the facility also has a full golf equipment repair room.

7. Aquatic Center

Another addition to complement the Keiser University Gym is the Lake Lytal Aquatic Center. The facility is home to men’s and women’s swimming teams to practice and host swimming events. It has a 50m by 25yd Olympic size pool with 1- and 3-meter diving board. 

8. Keiser Multi-Purpose Field

This multi-purpose field is a football field, still located in the West Palm Beach area. Keiser football team played its first game on the field in 2018, during which the field still has natural grass. After a year, the grass was replaced and upgraded to artificial turf.

In addition to the Keiser University gym, this stadium features a weight room, an equipment room, two locker rooms, coach’s offices, and an Athletic Training room. In recent years, the field has also been used for lacrosse and flag football events. 

Beyond Keiser University Gym

Keiser University recognizes that fitness is just one aspect of a healthy lifestyle. To promote overall wellness, the gym serves as a hub for building connections and fostering a sense of community. Holding regular events like charity runs and sports tournaments brings students together, allowing them to bond over shared interests.

For mental health, Keiser University established the Wellness Center which is located in the Lakeside Residential Hall, Suite 108. These services are designed to help students understand emotional wellness for better opportunities for their personal growth and development. 

The Wellness Center is open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. If you are considering a consultation, you can book an appointment. Although the majority of their services are booked appointments, from 10 AM to 12 PM you can visit without an appointment.

If you consider the Wellness Center too intimidating, you can talk to fellow students who offer help and support in the Peer Support Program. They have received education and training as active listeners, setting boundaries, considering diversity and inclusion, and mental health. 

Although they are not professionals and do not provide counseling, they will share their experiences. Providing you with new perspectives, tips, and encouragement. Rather than feeling stress alone, you can join the Seahawk to Seahawk team and create a more suitable environment.
